Ateba Gautier’s power meets its sharpest distance test against Roman Kopylov at UFC 332
Gautier brings six knockdowns, a six-inch reach advantage and a steep moneyline price into a matchup with the most experienced striker of his UFC run.
MMA Fighting opened live coverage of Ateba Gautier versus Roman Kopylov, a three-round middleweight bout on the UFC 332 main card Saturday at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The matchup is still listed as announced in PropBetEdge’s card data, with neither fighter reported withdrawn.
The immediate betting question is not whether Gautier has looked dangerous. Six knockdowns across eight tracked rounds settle that point. The harder question is whether his early finishing pattern justifies laying between -230 and -250 against a proven, active striker who has completed 32 tracked rounds.
That distinction matters because Gautier’s moneyline carries little room for an ordinary prospect-development performance. Bettors paying the favorite’s price need his physical advantages and damage production to translate against an opponent with a much deeper UFC sample.
Gautier’s knockout run is built on concentrated damage
Gautier enters at 11-1 and has won all six bouts in the PropBetEdge archive. Five ended by knockout or TKO, including first-round stoppages of Jose Daniel Medina, Robert Valentin and Tre’ston Vines. After Andrey Pulyaev took him to a unanimous decision in January, Gautier stopped Ozzy Diaz in the second round in May.

The mechanism behind those results is damage rather than overwhelming activity. Gautier has landed 110 significant strikes across eight tracked rounds, producing six knockdowns. Of those landed strikes, 83 went to the head, 23 to the body and only four to the legs. That is a concentrated, top-heavy attack from a 6-foot-4 switch-stance fighter with an 81-inch reach.
Kopylov stands 6 feet with a 75-inch reach, leaving Gautier with four inches in height and six inches in reach. If Gautier can establish his preferred striking distance, those dimensions give him a clearer path to landing first and forcing Kopylov to cross more space before returning fire. They also matter defensively: Gautier absorbs 2.60 significant strikes per minute, well below Kopylov’s 5.08.
