Brandon Moreno’s reported Charles Johnson booking puts durability against finishing threat
Moreno’s deep decision history offers the first betting clue for UFC 335, but the missing opponent data and unverified market leave no actionable edge yet.
BJPenn.com reported that Brandon Moreno is set to face Charles Johnson at UFC 335 in December, a quick return for the No. 8 flyweight after his split-decision win over Joseph Morales on Sept. 12.
The booking would give Moreno another chance to stabilize his position after an uneven three-fight stretch. He lost to Tatsuro Taira by second-round knockout, dropped a five-round unanimous decision to Lone’er Kavanagh and then edged Morales. He was only 19 days removed from the Morales fight when the matchup surfaced.
The report identifies Johnson as the only fighter to have knocked out reigning champion Joshua Van and says he most recently submitted Eduardo Henrique with a twister after a third-round submission loss to Asu Almabayev. Those results create obvious promotional tension: Moreno has historically been difficult to finish, while Johnson arrives with recent wins by two different finishing methods.
That is a useful starting point, not a betting conclusion. PropBetEdge has no linked bout market, verified odds or graded model output for this matchup. More importantly, the database contains no opponent profile for Johnson here, so any attempt to price his knockout or submission threat would outrun the available evidence.
Moreno’s history points toward extended fights
Moreno’s 24-10-2 record includes 21 archived bouts in the PropBetEdge database. Across 12 wins in that sample, six came by decision, three by knockout or technical knockout and three by submission. His 50% finish rate on wins is balanced rather than one-sided, and it should not be confused with a forecast against Johnson.
The more relevant betting signal is Moreno’s resistance. He has been finished once across those 21 archived bouts. Four of his past five contests reached the scorecards, including three five-round decisions. Taira supplied the exception with the second-round stoppage in December 2025.
