Edmen Shahbazyan’s Late Surge Against Brunno Ferreira Expands His Betting Profile
Shahbazyan justified a steep UFC 331 moneyline while adding another three-round result to a record still defined by early knockout power.

Edmen Shahbazyan returned to the win column at UFC 331, beating Brunno Ferreira by unanimous decision after his three-fight winning streak ended against Brendan Allen in June. Cageside Press reported scores of 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27, with Shahbazyan controlling range early, surviving Ferreira’s third-round pressure and scoring two knockdowns in the final minute; the report also noted that an eye poke hurt Ferreira late in the second round.
The result matters because Shahbazyan did not follow his familiar first-round knockout script. He won minutes at distance, absorbed a late momentum swing and produced his most damaging work near the end of a 15-minute fight. That does not erase the volatility in his broader record, but it gives bettors another mechanism to consider beyond Shahbazyan by early stoppage.
Shahbazyan won in the phase that used to create doubt
Shahbazyan’s archived UFC sample contains 17 bouts and 33 rounds with detailed round data available for 16 of those fights. He has landed 554 significant strikes, produced eight knockdowns and accumulated 22 minutes of control. His offense has historically skewed toward the head: 385 significant strikes landed there, compared with 114 to the body and 55 to the legs.
Ferreira forced a different kind of performance. Shahbazyan used leg kicks to manage the first round, regained his preferred range after Ferreira pressed inside in the second and then answered the Brazilian’s strongest push with late knockdowns. The important change was not simply that Shahbazyan reached the scorecards. He remained offensively dangerous after Ferreira had begun forcing him backward.

That distinction touches several betting markets. Shahbazyan has seven knockout or technical-knockout wins, one submission win and three decision wins across his 11 archived victories, giving him a 73% finish rate in wins. But three of his last five fights have now gone the full three rounds: decision wins over Andre Petroski and Ferreira, plus the decision loss to Allen. His other two fights in that stretch were first-round stoppages of Dylan Budka and Andre Muniz.
