Magomed Zaynukov rules out 2026 return, putting his high-output profile on hold
The unbeaten lightweight’s hand rehabilitation removes a rumored Qatar matchup and leaves bettors with a promising but thin statistical sample to reassess before his next booking.
Magomed Zaynukov will not fight again in 2026, halting the momentum from his July UFC debut and taking a rumored matchup with Manoel Sousa off the board before it became official.
Sherdog reported that Zaynukov underwent surgery earlier this year for a lingering hand injury, has resumed training while continuing rehabilitation, never signed a contract to face Sousa at UFC Qatar in November and does not plan to compete again until 2027.
The distinction between a canceled fight and an unmade fight matters. There is no Zaynukov-Sousa bout to reprice, and no replacement-opponent angle to evaluate. The actionable change is broader: Zaynukov’s next appearance will come after surgery and a longer break, introducing uncertainty around the striking volume that has defined his limited tracked sample.
The volume is real, but the sample is narrow
Zaynukov is 9-0 overall and has won both appearances in the PropBetEdge archive, beating Lucas Caldas on Dana White’s Contender Series in October 2025 and Damian Rzepecki in his UFC debut on July 25, 2026. Both victories were unanimous decisions.

His career-level UFC statistics show 10.3 significant strikes landed per minute at 59% accuracy, against 2.93 absorbed per minute. He has also defended 62% of incoming significant strikes. Those figures describe an aggressive but controlled striker: Zaynukov has created far more offense than he has conceded without depending on knockdowns or a finish.
The round-level database is much thinner. It contains one bout and three rounds, all from the Rzepecki fight. Zaynukov landed 74 significant strikes at 56% accuracy, scored two takedowns on six attempts, registered one minute of control and produced no knockdowns or submission attempts. His target distribution was 46 significant strikes to the head, 20 to the legs and eight to the body.
