Manon Fiorot-Alexa Grasso Gets Title-Shot Stakes, but the Betting Case Still Starts With Pace

Manon Fiorot’s three-round fight with Alexa Grasso now carries an explicit divisional incentive beyond Saturday’s result. Sherdog reported that Fiorot says the UFC told her the Noche UFC winner will receive the next women’s flyweight title shot, with the belt set to become vacant after Valentina Shevchenko sustained an injury requiring a lengthy absence.

That raises the stakes for the Sept. 12 main-card bout at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. It does not, by itself, create a bet.

Fiorot enters ranked No. 2 at flyweight and sixth pound-for-pound; Grasso is No. 3 and seventh, respectively. The market already treated Fiorot as the clear favorite before the title-shot claim surfaced publicly. Prices observed Sept. 8 ranged from Fiorot -230 to -250, with Grasso available from +180 to +205.

The useful question is whether the added stakes change how either woman is likely to fight. The available evidence points more toward a structured, minute-winning contest than a forced increase in risk—but each has a recent first-round stoppage that prevents the finish markets from being dismissed outright.

Fiorot’s favorite price rests on repeatable striking advantages

Fiorot’s clearest edge is not the first-round knockout of Jasmine Jasudavicius in her latest appearance. It is the pace and defensive structure she has sustained across a much larger body of work.

She lands 5.66 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.58, with 66% striking defense. Grasso lands 4.11 per minute, absorbs 3.71 and owns 58% defense. That gives Fiorot a 1.55-strike-per-minute volume advantage before accounting for the eight-point defensive gap.
