Paulo Costa’s reported Navajo Stirling rejection leaves bettors with a profile, not a matchup
Costa’s contract dispute has stalled a relevant light-heavyweight booking, but his striking volume and limited 205-pound sample matter more than the negotiation narrative.

Paulo Costa has no next opponent, and the reported reason adds more uncertainty than betting clarity.
Bloody Elbow reported that Costa has one fight left on his UFC contract, received three offers that did not produce a booking and rejected a proposed fight with undefeated light heavyweight Navajo Stirling; the outlet also reported that Stirling is now scheduled to face Jiri Prochazka on Nov. Bloody Elbow reported November 21.
That leaves the UFC’s No. 6 light heavyweight without a bout 178 days after his divisional debut. Costa stopped Azamat Murzakanov in the third round on April 11, improving to 16-4 and giving him consecutive wins for the first time in the five-fight form window.
For bettors, however, the rejection itself does not establish an edge. A contract standoff can affect matchmaking, but it does not tell us how Costa will perform against whichever opponent eventually signs. Without a booked bout, verified odds or opponent-specific data, there is no responsible way to turn this news into a moneyline position.
Costa’s light-heavyweight evidence is one fight deep
The Murzakanov knockout changed Costa’s divisional standing, not the size of the usable sample. It remains his only archived fight at 205 pounds.
That distinction matters. Costa’s third-round finish could invite a broad claim that added weight has improved his power or durability, but one result cannot establish either. His underlying archive covers 12 UFC bouts and 34 rounds across his broader career profile. It cannot isolate a reliable light-heavyweight baseline from a single appearance.
