Valesca Machado’s Short Price Runs Ahead of the Available UFC Evidence
Machado brings the deeper documented résumé into the TUF 34 strawweight final, but a one-fight statistical sample and Melissa Amaya’s missing UFC data make the moneyline difficult to validate.
Valesca “Tina Black” Machado will face Melissa Amaya in the women’s strawweight final at UFC Fight Night: Rosas Jr. vs. Barcelos on September 26 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. LowKick MMA reported that the fight carries the TUF 34 tournament title and an expected UFC contract for the winner, while the market moved from an opening Amaya -115 and Machado -101 toward decisive Machado favoritism.
That move has produced a wide current range. Machado is available from -215 to -230 across six tracked books, while Amaya ranges from +178 to +185. The best displayed prices are Machado -215 and Amaya +185.
The central betting question is not whether Machado owns the deeper documented résumé. She does. It is whether the available evidence is strong enough to support laying more than two dollars against an unbeaten opponent whose UFC-level statistical profile is entirely blank.
Machado’s experience edge is real, but the sample is narrow
Machado enters at 15-4 with one no contest, compared with Amaya’s 8-0 record. Both are strawweights listed at 5-foot-4. Amaya owns the only measurable physical advantage in the matchup data: a 64-inch reach against Machado’s 63 inches.

Machado’s archived UFC-level numbers come from one bout, a three-round unanimous-decision loss to Piera Rodriguez on Dana White’s Contender Series in October 2021. She landed 36 significant strikes across those three rounds, with 25 to the head, seven to the body and four to the legs. She recorded no knockdowns, takedowns or submission attempts and accumulated one minute of control.
Her career statistical line from that sample shows 2.4 significant strikes landed per minute at 32 percent accuracy, against 2.87 absorbed per minute. Her 64 percent striking defence is the more encouraging side of the profile. She also carries 76 percent takedown defence, though one fight cannot establish how reliably that number will hold across different wrestling styles.
