Yousri Belgaroui’s grappling work meets a hard data test in Caio Borralho
Belgaroui’s camp says his ground game is advancing, but UFC 334 will test that claim against a ranked middleweight with 37 minutes of recorded control.

Yousri Belgaroui has already proved he can end UFC fights on the feet. His fourth appearance will ask whether his developing grappling can keep the fight where that finishing threat matters.
Belgaroui faces No. 5 middleweight Caio Borralho in a three-round main-card bout at UFC 334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden. Sherdog reported that head coach Glover Teixeira has seen Belgaroui devote extra work to wrestling and jiu-jitsu while becoming more confident on the ground.
That is a meaningful camp signal because it addresses the central tactical question in this matchup. It is not yet proof of a measurable transformation. Belgaroui’s available fight data still describes a long, high-output striker with very little demonstrated offensive grappling. Borralho, by contrast, has repeatedly built rounds with takedowns and control.
For bettors, the distinction matters. Better grappling could mean Belgaroui stays upright more often, preserves striking volume and extends his knockout window. It does not automatically make him a submission threat or establish that he can win sustained ground exchanges against Borralho.

Belgaroui’s numbers still begin with his striking
Belgaroui is 3-0 in the UFC with three technical knockouts. Expand the view to his last five archived bouts and he is 4-1, with all four wins coming by KO or TKO. That is a strong finishing sequence, but it remains a five-fight form sample rather than a settled career-wide finishing baseline.
His underlying striking data supports the mechanism behind those results. Belgaroui lands 6.1 significant strikes per minute at 64.2 percent accuracy while absorbing 2.17. Borralho lands 3.47 per minute and absorbs 2.61. The resulting 2.63-strike-per-minute volume gap favors Belgaroui before accounting for the possibility that Borralho slows the exchanges through clinches, takedown attempts or control.
