Alice Pereira’s clinch-to-mount finish adds a new layer to her bantamweight profile
Pereira’s second straight stoppage came through positional pressure and elbows, widening the future prop conversation beyond her modest striking volume.
Alice Pereira left UFC Vegas 122 with a second consecutive stoppage, moving to 8-1 after a first-round TKO of Daria Zhelezniakova. Cageside Press reported that Pereira completed a takedown from the fence, advanced from half guard to mount and opened a forehead cut with elbows before Zhelezniakova told the doctor between rounds that she could not continue.
The official time was 5:00 of Round 1. That technical detail matters: Pereira did not produce a conventional standing knockout, but she created enough damage through control and ground striking to force the stoppage before the second round began.
For bettors, the result changes the list of mechanisms that need to be considered in Pereira’s next matchup. Her previous UFC win over Hailey Cowan also ended by KO/TKO, in the second round. This one came from a clinch entry, top position and elbows. Two stoppages do not establish a stable finishing baseline, but they do show that Pereira’s path is not limited to winning long-range exchanges.
