Andre Fili’s Head-Kick Knockout Changes the Highlight Reel, Not His Betting Baseline
Fili ended a long finishing drought against Kai Kamaka III, but his broader profile still points toward a mixed game and decision-heavy winning history.
Andre Fili knew the finish had arrived before anyone needed to pull him away. After dropping Kai Kamaka III in the second round on Oct. 10, Fili declined to add follow-up punches and collected his first knockout win since a six-fight stretch without a finish. BJPenn.com reported that the decisive strike was a head kick and that Fili’s restraint came from recognizing Kamaka was already out, not from any hesitation about the result.
The choice not to throw another shot says more about Fili’s judgment than his future betting profile. The knockout itself matters. The restraint after it does not change how a KO/TKO ticket settles, nor does it supply evidence that Fili will become more or less aggressive in his next matchup.
For bettors, the relevant question is whether this result signals a genuine change in Fili’s finishing mechanics or simply adds one emphatic outcome to a much larger, decision-oriented sample. His database record argues strongly for caution before treating him as a transformed knockout threat.
One knockout does not erase 28 fights of evidence
Fili is now 26-14 with one no contest, and the Kamaka victory moved him to 14-13 across 28 archived bouts. Nine of those 14 wins came by decision. Five came by KO or TKO, while none came by submission. His 36% finish rate on wins is meaningful over that archive, but it does not make the newest finish irrelevant. It establishes the baseline against which the Kamaka knockout should be judged.

That baseline is a fighter who can hurt opponents but has more often needed the scorecards to convert competitive performances into wins. Across 65 tracked rounds, Fili has recorded seven knockdowns. His offense also leans heavily toward the head: 861 of his 1,171 significant strikes landed have targeted that area, compared with 173 to the body and 137 to the legs.
