Damian Pinas’ 75-Second Knockout Extends a Pattern Bettors Can’t Price Blindly
Pinas now owns four consecutive first-round knockouts in the archived sample, but his defensive numbers and limited round data complicate the obvious early-finish thesis.
Damian Pinas needed 75 seconds to stop Andrey Pulyaev at UFC 332, Bloody Elbow reported, giving the 24-year-old middleweight another abrupt finish and bettors another reason to examine how his power should be priced.
The result moves Pinas to 10-1 and extends his archived run to four consecutive first-round knockout wins. Three came in UFC bouts against Wes Schultz, Cesar Almeida and Pulyaev; the first came against Vitor Costa on Dana White’s Contender Series. Every recorded win in that four-fight archive ended by KO or TKO before the second round.
That is a meaningful pattern. It is not yet permission to bet every Pinas under, first-round prop or knockout line without regard for price and opponent.
Pinas is creating damage without needing a grappling layer
The mechanics behind the streak matter more than the streak itself. Pinas has landed 40 significant strikes across the two bouts for which round-level data is available, connecting at 71 percent and recording three knockdowns. He did not land a takedown or attempt a submission in those rounds. His broader career rates tell the same basic story: 6.33 significant strikes landed per minute, 63 percent accuracy, zero takedowns per 15 minutes and zero submission attempts per 15.
This is not a finishing profile built on control time, accumulated ground strikes or submission threats. Pinas is winning through direct striking damage. His target distribution also shows more than headhunting: 21 significant strikes to the head, 12 to the legs and seven to the body in the tracked sample. Those lower targets can disrupt stance and reactions before the finishing sequence arrives upstairs.

The caveat is substantial. The detailed sample covers only two bouts and two rounds. Pinas’ four archived wins all ended in the first round, so the database has not captured how his pace, accuracy or shot selection changes over an extended fight. His 79.5-inch reach is notable for a 6-foot-1 middleweight, but reach alone does not establish an advantage without the dimensions and style of his next opponent.

Nunes says old sparring sessions exposed persistent flaws, but the UFC 334 matchup will turn on whether her proven takedown defence survives a 1,229-day layoff.

Lone’er Kavanagh’s variety meets Ramazan Temirov’s concentrated power at UFC 333
Temirov’s five knockdowns create the obvious danger, but Kavanagh’s reach, target diversity and deeper grappling record complicate every finish-based betting angle.
