MMA Fighting reported that Makhachev underwent three MRIs and had his spine checked after his August win over Ian Machado Garry, is addressing what he described as small issues, and wants to compete before Ramadan begins in February. That makes his recovery the immediate variable. There is no booked opponent, confirmed date or attached bout, so any firm betting conclusion would outrun the available evidence.

What can be assessed is the champion’s established mechanism. Makhachev is 29-1, has won 18 of the 19 fights in our UFC archive and sits at No. 1 in the pound-for-pound rankings.
