King Green’s difficult UFC 332 cut complicates a high-volume fight with Esteban Ribovics
Green made weight after a tense final cut, but Ribovics’ miss and the matchup’s competing pace and efficiency signals make the betting impact less obvious than the footage suggests.
King Green’s final hours before UFC 332 introduced a fresh concern into a lightweight matchup already divided by age, activity and striking style.
MMA Mania reported that Green lashed out at a cameraman while completing what appeared to be a difficult cut, then weighed 155.5 pounds; the same report had Esteban Ribovics missing weight at 156.5. Green remains booked to face Ribovics in a three-round main-card bout Saturday at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
The immediate betting question is whether Green’s behavior provided useful information about his physical condition or merely captured an unpleasant moment during weight cutting. That distinction matters. Green is 40, fought 84 days ago and now draws an opponent 10 years younger who pushes one of the higher striking rates in this matchup. But Green made weight, while Ribovics did not. The public evidence therefore does not support a clean downgrade of Green and upgrade of Ribovics.
The cut raises a cardio question, not a settled conclusion
A visibly taxing cut can affect expectations for pace, durability and recovery. In this matchup, those effects would touch the moneyline, total-rounds markets, fight-goes-the-distance props and significant-strike totals. Ribovics lands 7.43 significant strikes per minute and absorbs 5.74. He has generated 678 significant strikes landed across 20 tracked rounds, creating the sort of pace that can punish an opponent whose recovery or conditioning is compromised.

Green’s established numbers push back against an automatic fade. He lands 6.49 significant strikes per minute with 53 percent career accuracy while absorbing 3.63 per minute. His striking defense sits at 62 percent, eight percentage points higher than Ribovics’ 54 percent. Across 31 bouts with round data, Green has landed 2,124 significant strikes in 69 rounds. That is a deep sample showing he can sustain offense without accepting the same volume in return.
The timing is still relevant. Green is returning 84 days after a first-round knockout of Terrance McKinney. That followed a first-round submission of Jeremy Stephens in May and a second-round knockout of Daniel Zellhuber in February. Three straight early finishes have limited his recent extended-round exposure. His previous fight went all three rounds, but the latest run does not show how his current conditioning holds up after a demanding cut against Ribovics’ pace.

Amanda Nunes’ scouting claim adds intrigue, not proof, against Kayla Harrison
Nunes says old sparring sessions exposed persistent flaws, but the UFC 334 matchup will turn on whether her proven takedown defence survives a 1,229-day layoff.

Lone’er Kavanagh’s variety meets Ramazan Temirov’s concentrated power at UFC 333
Temirov’s five knockdowns create the obvious danger, but Kavanagh’s reach, target diversity and deeper grappling record complicate every finish-based betting angle.
