Mandel Nallo’s leg-kick dismantling of Nate Landwehr adds substance to his finishing profile
Nallo delivered as a heavy favorite, but the route to his first UFC win matters more than the result for pricing his next fight.
Mandel Nallo did more than rebound from a failed UFC debut. He showed a repeatable route to offense against Nate Landwehr: establish the jab, damage the lead leg, punish increasingly limited movement and then layer in grappling once the striking had forced a defensive collapse.
BJPenn.com reported that Nallo stopped Landwehr with kicks and punches 47 seconds into the second round at UFC Edmonton. The first round supplied the useful evidence. Nallo kept Landwehr outside with straight punches and kicks, repeatedly attacked the leg, hurt him upstairs and then completed a takedown before moving through mount to the back. Landwehr survived the choke attempt and the round, but another low kick dropped him shortly after the restart.
That gave the 37-year-old Nallo his first UFC victory and moved his three-fight database sample to two wins and one loss. All three ended by KO or TKO: first-round finishes on opposite sides against Samuel Silva and Jai Herbert, followed by Saturday’s second-round stoppage.

The finish came from layered offense, not one clean punch
The strongest betting takeaway is not simply that Nallo can finish. It is how he created this finish.
Landwehr initially tried to close distance, but Nallo’s jab and kicks interrupted those advances. The low kicks then reduced Landwehr’s ability to move through range or reset after exchanges. Once Landwehr’s base deteriorated, Nallo found repeated straight punches and combinations. His late first-round takedown also showed that an opponent hurt on the feet may have to defend more than strikes.

That sequence matters for method-of-victory and round markets. A striker who depends exclusively on landing one large counter can produce volatile results. Nallo generated several connected threats here: range control, accumulated leg damage, head strikes and opportunistic grappling. He did not need the opening knockdown to end the fight immediately because the damage continued to narrow Landwehr’s options.

Temirov’s five knockdowns create the obvious danger, but Kavanagh’s reach, target diversity and deeper grappling record complicate every finish-based betting angle.
