Natalia Silva’s Late Pivot to Wang Cong Changes the UFC 332 Betting Test
Silva remains the clear betting favorite, but a month-long opponent switch replaces the original matchup with a higher-volume, lower-ranked southpaw who attacks every level.
Natalia Silva spent most of her UFC 332 camp solving for one opponent. She will enter the Delta Center on Saturday facing another.
Cageside Press reported that Valentina Shevchenko vacated the women’s flyweight title because of injury and that Silva received roughly 30 days to redirect her preparation toward Wang Cong. The report presents Silva-Wang as a title fight; PropBetEdge’s current bout record lists it as an announced five-round main event but does not carry a title designation. The official card remains active, with no withdrawal reported.
That distinction matters administratively. The opponent change matters competitively and financially. Silva is priced between -198 and -215 across six tracked books, while Wang ranges from +163 to +175. Without a graded model output, those prices should be treated as market information rather than proof that either side is mispriced.
The new assignment brings a different striking problem
Silva and Wang are both southpaws, and their reach is nearly identical: 65 inches for Silva and 65.5 for Wang. Wang stands two inches taller at 5-foot-6. Those basic measurements do not create a major range advantage by themselves, but Wang’s activity and shot distribution give Silva’s rebuilt game plan a different mechanical burden.

Wang lands 6.22 significant strikes per minute, 1.41 more than Silva’s 4.81. She has landed 478 significant strikes across 15 tracked rounds from six bouts with round data, compared with Silva’s 502 across 22 rounds from eight bouts. Wang has also landed with 58% accuracy in that round-level sample; Silva’s corresponding mark is 45%.
The target splits show why preparing for Wang cannot be reduced to preparing for another left-handed striker. Wang’s 478 landed significant strikes divide into 225 to the head, 114 to the body and 139 to the legs. Silva has landed 289 to the head, 107 to the body and 106 to the legs. Wang’s offense has been less head-dependent and has produced three knockdowns in the tracked sample, against two for Silva.
