Deiveson Figueiredo’s Thailand camp targets the exact problem Payton Talbott presents
Figueiredo has emphasized striking volume and grappling before UFC 332, but Talbott’s pace, size and takedown defence explain a heavily one-sided moneyline.
Deiveson Figueiredo did not travel to Thailand with a scheduled fight against Payton Talbott. He will leave with an entire UFC 332 camp built around it.
Sherdog reported that the trip began as a training experience before the UFC offered Figueiredo the Oct. 3 matchup, prompting him to stay in Thailand and work on striking volume under Leo Elias while sharpening his grappling with wrestlers at Phuket Fight Club. The late conversion from open-ended training trip to opponent-specific camp is the news. The betting question is whether those areas of emphasis can change the mechanics of a difficult matchup.
The market remains emphatic. As of early Oct. 1, Talbott ranged from -650 at FanDuel and BetMGM to -750 at Bovada. Figueiredo was available from +420 at FanDuel to +525 at Bovada. Those gaps make price shopping essential, but the camp report alone does not establish that either side of the moneyline is mispriced.
More volume is necessary, but it cannot be cosmetic
Figueiredo’s stated striking emphasis addresses the largest statistical separation in the fight. Talbott lands 6.62 significant strikes per minute; Figueiredo lands 2.57. The 4.05-strike gap is not a minor efficiency difference. It describes two substantially different rates of offensive production.

Accuracy does not close it. Figueiredo owns a 53 percent career significant-strike accuracy rate, while Talbott sits at 56 percent. Across the available round data, Figueiredo has landed 718 significant strikes in 59 rounds from 22 bouts. Talbott has landed 362 in only 15 tracked rounds across six bouts. Talbott’s round-level sample is much smaller, but it supports rather than contradicts his career pace.
For Figueiredo, increasing volume must mean creating more exchanges without allowing Talbott to dictate their length. Talbott is five inches taller and has a 2.5-inch reach advantage. If Figueiredo simply throws more from outside, he risks entering a higher-output fight at the range preferred by the younger, longer opponent.
