Marvin Vettori’s camp reset adds uncertainty to a matchup built for attrition
Vettori has returned to a familiar setup under Beneil Dariush before facing Ismail Naurdiev, but the actionable betting questions concern pace, takedown commitment and another likely decision.

Marvin Vettori is changing the people and setting around him after four consecutive losses, all by decision. Sherdog reported that Vettori left American Top Team, returned to California and installed Beneil Dariush as his head coach while reconnecting with his former boxing and strength-and-conditioning coaches.
The timing gives the move immediate betting relevance. Vettori, 33, meets Ismail Naurdiev in a three-round middleweight bout at UFC 332 on Oct. 3 in Salt Lake City. The market has not treated a return to familiar surroundings as proof of a rebound: Naurdiev was priced between -135 and -150 across seven tracked sportsbooks, while Vettori ranged from +110 to +120 in the Sept. 30 snapshot.
That does not automatically make Vettori an appealing underdog. A camp change matters only if it changes how he creates offense. His existing profile is durable and active, but it has not produced enough clean separation in recent fights.
The reset needs to change process, not motivation
Vettori’s losing streak comprises unanimous decisions against Jared Cannonier, Roman Dolidze, Brendan Allen and Brunno Ferreira. He has not been finished across 18 archived bouts, and his most recent five fights all reached the scorecards. The problem has therefore not been survival. It has been winning enough exchanges and rounds.

His career rates show a pressure-oriented workload: 4.74 significant strikes landed per minute, 4.55 absorbed, 1.41 takedowns per 15 minutes and 0.4 submission attempts per 15 minutes. Across 62 tracked rounds, he has landed 1,464 significant strikes, 29 takedowns and eight submission attempts while accumulating 57 minutes of control.
Those numbers define the task for the new team. More activity alone may not solve it. If Dariush’s influence produces more deliberate takedown entries, better transitions from boxing into clinches or a clearer plan for holding top position, Vettori could create a second scoring lane against Naurdiev. That would matter to the moneyline, takedown props and decision markets.

Amanda Nunes’ scouting claim adds intrigue, not proof, against Kayla Harrison
Nunes says old sparring sessions exposed persistent flaws, but the UFC 334 matchup will turn on whether her proven takedown defence survives a 1,229-day layoff.

Temirov’s five knockdowns create the obvious danger, but Kavanagh’s reach, target diversity and deeper grappling record complicate every finish-based betting angle.
