Wang Cong’s volume tests Natalia Silva’s defense — and the UFC 332 price
A disputed title designation does not change the matchup: Wang brings the higher striking rate, Silva the stronger defensive record, and both arrive with decision-heavy recent form.
MMA Mania reported that Wang Cong will face Natalia Silva for the vacant flyweight championship at UFC 332 after Valentina Shevchenko was stripped. The bout is booked for five rounds on Oct. 3 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, but PropBetEdge’s official-card record currently labels it a non-title main event.
That discrepancy matters for the historical label, not the immediate betting mechanics. The scheduled distance is five rounds either way. Silva, the No. 1 flyweight and No. 4 pound-for-pound fighter, meets No. 8 Wang in a matchup between two southpaws whose recent results point more toward accumulated work than a sudden finish.
The market has established Silva as the favorite. Prices observed Oct. 1 range from -198 at Bovada to -215 at FanDuel. Wang ranges from +163 at BetRivers to +175 at Caesars. With no graded projection available, those prices must be assessed through the matchup itself rather than against a calculated fair line.
Wang’s case starts with pace, accuracy and target variety
Wang lands 6.22 significant strikes per minute at 56 percent accuracy. Silva lands 4.81 at 45 percent. The 1.41-strike-per-minute volume gap is the clearest statistical argument for Wang, particularly in a scheduled five-round fight where repeated small advantages can become decisive on the scorecards.

This is not merely a head-hunting profile. Across six bouts and 15 rounds with round-level data, Wang landed 478 significant strikes: 225 to the head, 114 to the body and 139 to the legs. Her leg total exceeds her body total, and the distribution gives her multiple places to score against an opponent with sound head-strike defense.
Mechanically, that matters because Silva’s defensive numbers could make a narrow, single-target attack inefficient. Silva owns 66 percent striking defense and absorbs 2.36 significant strikes per minute. Wang’s ability to redirect volume to the body and legs gives her a route to keep building offense even if clean head contact is difficult.
