Jai Herbert’s experience pitch meets Matheus Camilo’s takedown pressure at UFC Vegas 122
Herbert owns the reach and deeper UFC sample, but Camilo’s wrestling rate defines both the matchup and the betting decision.
Jai Herbert wants experience to separate him from Matheus Camilo in Saturday’s three-round lightweight bout at UFC Vegas 122. Cageside Press reported that Herbert views Camilo as a capable young all-around opponent but expects his own seasoning to matter once the fight starts.
That claim fits the broad résumé gap. Herbert, 38, has 10 archived bouts and 24 rounds of tracked data; the 25-year-old Camilo has three bouts and six tracked rounds. It does not, by itself, create a betting edge. Experience matters only if Herbert can use it to control where exchanges happen, and Camilo’s early UFC profile points directly at the phase most likely to disrupt him.
The market has Camilo between -180 and -205, while Herbert ranges from +150 to +165. Without a graded PropBetEdge model output, there is no responsible basis for declaring either side mispriced. The useful question is whether Herbert’s length and takedown defence can force enough of the bout into open-space striking to challenge the market’s clear preference for Camilo.
