Renato Moicano Makes Weight, Leaving Tom Nolan’s Takedown Defense as the Main-Event Fault Line
The UFC Vegas 123 headliners cleared the scale, so bettors are left with a tight price and a matchup that turns on whether Moicano can force prolonged grappling exchanges.
BJPenn.com reported that Renato Moicano weighed 156 pounds and Tom Nolan 155.5 for Saturday’s five-round lightweight main event at the Meta APEX; the outlet also reported that featured-prelim featherweight Francis Marshall weighed 148, two pounds over the non-title limit, and will forfeit 20 percent of his purse.
For the headliners, the weigh-in removes one immediate variable without creating a new betting thesis. Neither Moicano nor Nolan missed, and the fight remains intact. There is no supplied evidence of a compromised cut, late medical issue or change in conditions for either man.
That distinction matters because a routine weigh-in should not be treated as actionable by itself. The available moneyline was captured before the report’s publication, so the screen cannot tell us whether bettors reacted to the scale. Any main-event position still has to come from the matchup and the price—not from projecting Marshall’s miss onto two fighters who made their contracted weight.

A narrow moneyline leaves little room for a superficial read
Moicano was priced between -120 and -125 across the eight-book screen, while Nolan ranged from -102 to +105. FanDuel offered the lowest listed Moicano price at -120. Nolan was available at +105 at BetOnline, Caesars, DraftKings, BetMGM and BetUS.

That is a compact market for a fight carrying meaningful contrasts. Moicano is 37, ranked No. 12 at lightweight and owns a 21-7-1 record. Nolan is 26, ranked No. 14 and stands 11-1. The 11-year age gap favors Nolan, but reducing the handicap to age and recent wins misses how each fighter creates offense.
Nolan lands 4.84 significant strikes per minute to Moicano’s 4.10. He is also four inches taller at 6-foot-3, though his 73-inch reach gives him only a one-inch reach advantage. The southpaw-orthodox alignment may shape the entries, but the packet contains no matchup-specific tape evidence showing which man consistently wins that open-stance battle.
