Petr Yan-Merab Dvalishvili 3 Prices Pace Against Takedown Resistance
Yan enters the UFC 333 trilogy as the betting favorite, but the actionable markets hinge on whether Dvalishvili can force volume before Yan begins taxing him.
Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili have already supplied two sharply different versions of the same matchup. UFC 333 asks bettors to decide which version is more repeatable.
Their five-round bantamweight trilogy bout is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Yan won the December 2025 rematch by unanimous decision after Dvalishvili took their first meeting by the same method in March 2023. Both men have been out for 321 days.
MMA Mania’s preview framed the tactical split around initiative: Dvalishvili overwhelmed Yan with immediate wrestling pressure in the first fight, while Yan’s faster start, body work and defensive wrestling disrupted that process in the rematch. That is the right mechanism to examine, but it does not automatically identify the right side at the current prices.
Yan, the bantamweight champion and No. 4 pound-for-pound fighter, was available from -142 at DraftKings to -157 at BetOnline as of Friday’s market check. Dvalishvili, ranked No. 1 at bantamweight and No. 9 pound-for-pound, ranged from +120 to +134.

The trilogy turns on who establishes the workload
Dvalishvili’s offense is built to compound. Across 17 tracked bouts and 60 rounds, he has landed 119 takedowns and accumulated 107 minutes of control. His career rate of 5.97 takedowns per 15 minutes is more than three times Yan’s 1.70, and his 4.42 significant strikes landed per minute sit on top of that wrestling volume.

Those numbers explain why a Dvalishvili fight cannot be reduced to takedown success alone. His 35% takedown accuracy is modest, but failed entries can still force reactions, carry an opponent toward the fence and delay clean striking exchanges. The useful question for bettors is not simply whether he lands the first shot. It is whether he can make Yan defend often enough that subsequent shots and mat returns become easier.

Losene Keita’s late UFC 333 entry turns Aaron Pico’s fight into a wrestling test
Keita brings knockout threat and perfect takedown defense in a tiny UFC sample, while Pico’s volume and repeat wrestling offer the clearest path behind his favored price.

Merab Dvalishvili’s 19-Pound Rebound Adds a Variable, Not a Betting Signal, Against Petr Yan
Dvalishvili’s rapid post-weigh-in gain matters only if it restores the pace and repeat wrestling that drive his game, and one scale reading cannot establish that.

Aaron Pico’s Reset Meets Losene Keita’s Power in a Volatile UFC 333 Replacement
Pico says he wants more patience after his UFC debut loss, but Keita’s power and largely untested takedown resistance complicate every betting market around the replacement matchup.
